An opportunity has arisen to join a highly motivated team, all of whom have a drive for implementing change at every level of the business. This is a senior role in an area that receives a lot of attention, not only from the outside world but also across the rest of the business. You will be an incremental part of, delivering new and exciting initiatives, that change the way an organisation operates.

Focusing on our Corporate Responsibility strategy, you will define new CR policies through close consultation with Buying Directors, Suppliers and other external stakeholders. Your suggestions will challenge the way they do things and pave the way for new ideas that reflect how their business is evolving.

Whether you are advising the business or managing a project, you will be given plenty of responsibility and autonomy to showcase your skills.

Role and responsibilities include;

* Taking ownership of the company Plastics and Packaging Strategy.

* Managing the company's performance against commitments made.

* Day to day management of the budget.

* Developing and implementing initiatives aimed at influencing internal and external stakeholders to make more sustainable choices.

* Promoting internal and external communications.

Key personal attributes;

* Knowledge of industry sustainable packaging solutions.

* Packaging innovation in the retail sector.

* Understanding the legislative landscape of packaging compliance.

* Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills with an ethical and transparent approach to working.

* Engaging and friendly, able to collaborate and bring colleagues on board with new initiatives.

* Resilient - comfortable working on multiple projects within a fast paced, fast changing working environment.

The successful candidate will possess a 2:1 degree and experience with a focus on packaging in the FMCG or retail sector is preferred, and the ability to speak knowledgeably, accurately and with confidence on current environmental matters. The position would suit a quality-driven and motivated practitioner, able to work to tight deadlines.

In return the Manager will receive a starting salary of GBP52,540 rising to GBP76,495 over 4 years, 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, car parking and excellent career opportunities.
