Accounts Assistant - Perm - Leamington Spa - 20-25Kpa

We have an exciting opportunity for the right ambitious individual to join a successful business with a team in a broad and challenging role. The Company has a head office in Leamington Spa with operations overseas. The opportunity will require a hands-on person The head office team are nimble and willing to pitch in and cover for each other, therefore a team player is essential.

The role reporting to the Management Accountant but supporting the finance teams in other Countries, is predominantly a finance role but will also include purchasing responsibilities, asset management and travel coordination. The individual will get exposure to a wide range of activities and exposure across the whole group.

The candidate must have excellent Microsoft skills especially Excel. The ERP system used is also Microsoft based Navision. Experience in Navision will be an advantage but not essential. Attention to detail is a critical ingredient as this role will involve multiple currencies and locations.

Ideally (but not essential) the candidate would be working towards some finance qualifications, with the intention to improve whilst gaining experience in the role. A minimum of two years working in purchasing and or finance team is required. Below is a brief but not extensive list tasks involved in this role.

Finance
  • Preparation and creation of client sales invoices
  • Support group credit control
  • Supporting the UK purchase ledger (posting invoices, payment runs, statement recs)
  • Filling monthly VAT returns
  • Support the UK and Local African finance teams in the preparation of month end reporting. This will consist of Balance sheet reconciliations, preparing group profit and loss accounts and various analysis of financial and non-financial data.
  • Support local African finance teams in managing their bookkeeping - Local VAT returns, Withholding tax returns, Payroll Taxes and year end returns.
  • Assist the finance department with adhoc duties
