Children's Night Residential Support Worker - Kisimul Group

Kisimul Group has been established for 40 years and in that time have achieved the 'Outstanding' accolade from Ofsted at various times for both our education provision and social care services. The group has longstanding experience and success in providing care and education to children and young people with severe learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and autism spectrum disorder.

We are a residential co-educational special school and children's home in Shropshire for children and young people with autism at Cruckton Hall.

As a Night Support Worker, you will be key in helping young people with complex needs. This is a challenging role, but the rewards are incomparable to any other job. Your ambition for the young people you support will help them take steps to fulfilling their potential.

What will I be doing?

Working with all levels of the Staff Team to safeguard our young people at all time.
Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
Assisting with practical matters relating to care (cooking, cleaning etc.)
Creating positive relationships with the young people and offering them unconditional dignity and respect.
Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young people.
Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
Ensuring that the needs of the young person are being met and reviewing and recording changes to those needs.
Actively contributing to the development of the team.

What do I need to fulfil this role?

A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
A strong team player
Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer literacy
A Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.

A starting salary of GBP18,438.92 increasing to GBP19,065.84 after completion of the diploma.
