As a homelessness charity and housing association, our clients are at the heart of what we do. We provide a bed and support to more than 2,800 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to end homelessness and rebuild lives. We have 3 exciting opportunities for dynamic and strategic leaders to join the organisation as Service Development Manager.
In these high profile roles you will be responsible for the growth, implementation and development of new services within a region, as well as providing flexible management support where needed. This may include tackling contract compliance issues, following up on service development opportunities or filling management gaps.
Key responsibilities in these roles are:
  • To investigate and develop new business opportunities. To work with the Regional Director and Business Development Team on developing and growing our portfolio of services within the Region; supporting the development of regional pipelines and a regional growth strategy
  • To establish and implement new contracts. To be directly responsible for the successful implementation and start-up of new teams and services
  • To support Regional Heads where management gaps, issues or opportunities arise. To lead and motivate the managers responsible for the day to day delivery of an agreed number of teams within the region
  • To build a network of contacts across the region. To represent St Mungo's to external stakeholders, including local authorities and other funders
  • To support service managers in delivering best practice across their services. To help develop and implement processes, initiatives, policies and procedures, and services that promote the key ambitions and approaches of the organization
The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team or teams delivering services to groups of vulnerable clients, in an outreach, supported housing, support, care or other relevant environment; of networking, liaising and negotiating and, of successfully setting up new services.
We are looking for people who have a proven ability to complete delegated tasks and to effectively manage multiple service priorities and commissioner contacts. You will have the energy and project management skills to successfully seize opportunities, trouble shoot problems, implement projects and ensure effective contract compliance.
1 position is to cover our North London & East of England region on a 12 month fixed-term contract. The other 2 positions are for our West London and West of England region (1 post is available on a permanent basis, 1 on a 12 month fixed-term contract. While the posts are based in London, travel, including overnight stays, is expected for the West London and East of England region.
