This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established automotive manufacturing company in Redditch on a permanent basis.

This role offers an attractive salary of GBP33k - GBP35k and an early finish on a Friday!

Reporting to the Operations Manager / Director, as Quality Engineer you would be responsible for conducting and defining Quality Engineering activities to ensure that the product quality fully meets customer and company requirements.

Along with ensuring quality requirements are maintained throughout production life, you must also maintain effective communication throughout the business to ensure a robust QMS is implemented across the company. In detail, your roles and responsibilities will include:

* As required, conduct Internal Audits covering both Quality and Environmental Standards.

* As required, contribute towards setting Quality and Environmental Standards

* Identify 5S concerns and liaise with the relevant team(s).

* Assist in maintaining the AEO Environmental Management System [EMS] to ISO14001.

* Conduct drawing and specification review as part of feasibility studies.

* Identify concerns and liaise with relevant internal and customer contacts until the concerns are resolved.

* Ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood and translated into necessary controls, standards & processes.

* Lead, or provide active input into, PFMEA meetings and subsequent reviews.

* Evaluate dimensional and visual assessment of components & raw material, identifying errors and implementing necessary corrective action(s).

* Assist the Inspection Instructions based on the Control Plan/Gauge Plan/FMEA and gain concurrence form specified areas.

* Conduct pre-production audits on samples prior to despatch to the customer and ensure that they meet specified requirements.

* Assist with preliminary process studies, confirm control limits with Production Engineers, and agree actions to correct any non-stable / non-capable processes

* Monitor process capability during production and agree actions to correct non stable/non capable processes.

* Ensure quality documentation is updated in line with company procedures, or directed process improvements / engineering changes.

* Arrange for the inspection of customer returns and provide reports on causes of rejection and corrective action

* Lead root cause analysis and assist with the resolution of quality concerns as required by company procedures

* Assist in team member/team leader training in quality issues.

* Flexibility to undertake training and provide support within Quality Department as required.

* Assist in, and/or undertake, Process Audits.

* Effective use of performance charts to present actions and tracking of actions & status.

* Provide support to manufacturing teams to resolve quality concerns and promote quality.on receipt of quality concerns, evaluate and implement containment activity, both internally and externally.Providing clear instructions to third party agencies if necessary, to maintain customer and company quality levels.

* Planning of workload to ensure completion of activities within agreed timing program.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Experience & Qualifications:

* Experience with MRP systems and planning processes in an automotive manufacturing environment

* Have an understanding of ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 and their contribution to the business to help to achieve objectives and ensure compliance.

* Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation

* Experience with leading and developing people

* Excellent communication skills.

* Preferably educated to HNC level or equivalent.

* Internal audit training for IATF16949 and ISO14001:2015
