The Role:

This is a new role within the business solely responsible for managing property compliance projects across our portfolio.

The purpose is to support the business in driving and maintaining property related health and safety compliance throughout all retail stores and our store support centre. The goal is to continually improve compliance throughout the property estate, ensuring that all relevant regulations and legislation are adhered to and maintained. It is also key that Holland and Barrett are kept up to date with any upcoming changes in legislation to ensure these are proactively planned and budgeted.

Main responsibilities:

To create and manage the master compliance register for all relevant property legislation
Assisting in reviewing and appointing contractors and consultants to complete surveys or remedial works as required
Managing SLA's to ensure that all service visits are set up and carried out by providers / contractors within the correct time frames
Ensuring all documentation and certificates are centrally held and issued to stores and third parties as necessary in accordance with agreed SLA's
Ensuring all remedial work quotations are followed through
Contract negotiations and supplier management, as well as building strong working relations
Creating new procedures within the wider property team for compliance elements helping to drive a cultural change within the business
Managing the expenditure from the property compliance budget
Reading and understanding of store specific fire & water risk assessments, NICEIC reports, portable appliance testing and fire provisions certificates amongst others
Working as part of the wider property function to help deliver improved standards across our retail estate

The Person:

Proven experience having worked in Facilities or HSE roles previously, ideally within a retail environment (but not essential)
IOSH Managing Safely qualified
Food Safety Level 2 an advantage
Good understanding of Fire, Health and Safety at workplace
Good presentation skills
Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and to work to tight deadlines
Ability to analyse data, identifying trends and providing solutions
Creative problem solving skills
Good Administration skills required
Managing contractors and suppliers
Excellent Excel and Powerpoint knowledge
Honest and trustworthy
Able to coach other team members
Ability to provide objective and balanced feedback
Strong communication skills and effective team working
