7.5 Tonne and Pickup Driver

Due to constantly increasing work volumes my client are seeking a flexible, reliable individual Driver to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle for their Burton Branch.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the drivers role requires the successful candidate to drive a 7.5 Tonne and 3.5 Tonne vehicle.

This is a full-time driving opportunity, working from 7.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday mornings. Hours may have to be worked flexibly as required to meet operational requirements.

The drivers duties will include:
• Loading / unloading company and customer vehicles, some manual handling required
• Liaising with customers and colleagues on site as required
• General driving duties, observing current legal and best practice delivering and collection to/from our customer's premises
• Maintaining a professional standard whilst delivering, driving or collecting products
• Check/ complete /retain and hand over all load documentation/POD's and delivery paperwork
• Ensuring that vehicle loads are safe and damage free, secured with the appropriate restraints as per company procedures / Safe Systems of Work
• Comply with all EU drivers' hours/tachograph / WTD regulations (including GB Domestic where appropriate)
• Carry out pre-use checks prior to using any equipment / vehicle / trailer, complying with appropriate documentation and procedures
• Comply with any other reasonable requests from Management.

It is preferable for candidates to have timber retail experience, but full training will be provided.

It is essential for the successful candidate to possess at least 2 years' driving experience.

You must possess a Category C1 Licence and the Driver C.P.C. Qualification.

Finally, the successful candidate will have knowledge of the local area and excellent customer service skills, together with the ability to prioritise work volumes as required.
