The Client:

A well established family insurance brokerage located in the heart of Worcestershire. Historically their client base was harvested from the Arts and entertainment industries, this has now extended to include hospitality, leisure, well-being and fitness.

The Role:

Working within the Accounts Department assisting the Accounts Team in the administration of all company accounts business, withspecific focus on learning and development around accounting

A successful and growing business based in Malvern are looking to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant on a permanent, full time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior candidate to learn all aspects of accounts and progress within the business. The duties of the role will include but not be limited to:
  • Gain an understanding of the basic principles of accounting both for client and company

    money.
  • Assist and take responsibility for some accounting routines and checks for the client ledger

    such as processing daily cheque, credit card, iDeal, Paypal and BACS receipts in both the

    insurance and accounting systems, writing up cash books, posting to Sage, bank

    reconciliations, helping with insurer payments, and client refunds.
  • Work regularly and efficiently with both Sterling and Euro currencies.
  • Be able to identify, follow up and resolve errors that occur in the Insurance teams, and

    provide necessary feedback to them if appropriate
  • Support the team with a mix of routine weekly and monthly tasks; and with small projects to

    investigate or improve the way things are done.

  • Progress both your professional training in Accounts and your understanding of the Balens

  • Be able to work with both accuracy and confidentiality, meeting deadlines and working with

    all staff to get the right information at the right time.

  • Learn and assist with the accounting for our associated company, Balens Insurance Finance

    Services Ltd (BIFS).

The requirement

Good Administration Skills

Good English both written and spoken

GCSE maths (A-C/5-9)

2 A level passes at grade C or above

Degree level training undertaken

Currently studying or soon to start AAT2 level or similar

Experience of Microsoft Office, outlook and excel

Some accounts experience

Some Experience of Sage
