A leading automotive company is currently recruiting for a Graduate EDS Engineer to allow for the introduction of new and exciting automotive technology across a range of products, the Electrical department is expanding and is looking to bring in talented, passionate and driven engineers, to support our future model development.

As a Graduate EDS engineer, within the wider Electrical team, you will be involved in full vehicle electrical system development from high level scheming down to individual component development, working closely with Tier 1 suppliers to specify components to a high standard and drive forward the next generation of motorcycles. You will be required to troubleshoot problems within the team and provide solutions using your wealth of experience in that area as well being a role model to Design engineers within the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Design and development of whole vehicle electrical circuits.

•High level design and specification of a wide variety of electrical / electronic components.

•Physical layout of wiring harness and associated electrical systems on the motorcycle.

•Support EMC testing either at component level or full bike test.

•Regular liaison with project managers, manufacturing departments and chassis / powertrain / systems teams.

•Work with existing worldwide suppliers and identify potential new suppliers to ensure timely introduction of new components and harnesses.

•Generation of test reports.

•Continually improvement to advance design procedures, advise best practice and improve efficiency.

•Assist across all projects, advise, support and mentor less experienced engineers

•Writing and updating current procedures

Requirements:

Essential:

•BEng or MEng in Electrical / Electronic engineering.

•Proficient in EDS design using VeSys (or similar).

•Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook.

•Excellent trouble shooting skills.

Desirable:

•Knowledge of CAN communication and familiarity with tools such as CANalyser / CANoe (or similar).

•Previous experience of working within an automotive / manufacturing / industrial environment.

•Experience with PREEvision.

•Systems Design Experience
