It is an inspiring time for our client as they deliver a £1.3 billion investment plan set to significantly expand the tram network, bringing even greater connectivity to people, places and business.

It is an exciting time for our client and the growth of the network as they are expanding the engineering department in particular the rolling stock team. They have a number of roles that they are looking to fill which will support with the new fleet of trams and the expansions into CSQ and Egdebaston.

As a Maintenance Technician you'll provide safe, effective, efficient and professional tram maintenance and repair and overhaul service for the rolling stock assets, working on a 24/7 shift roster. You'll perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on the trams, actively participating in ongoing continuous improvement activities, recording all work activity and supporting the testing, commissioning and acceptance of new trams. You'll accurately report and record details on fault finding and diagnosis as well as supporting Rolling Stock Engineering Management in the delivery of the production plan, ensuring exam tasks are compliant with the planned maintenance schedule.

You will also be required to undertake role specific training and competency assessments to achieve both company and national qualifications.

The successful candidate will have experience of finding and diagnosing faults in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally with a Mechanical and Electrical qualification, time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience. Experience in a rail maintenance environment and working with safety critical equipment would be advantageous. We are looking for candidates with high levels of attention to detail, with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working as part of a team in a similar industry is essential.

Our client are welcoming applications from Engineers with experience in undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance. Experience in the use of computer based diagnostic equipment and rolling stock / heavy vehicle maintenance would be advantageous.
