Employment Law Solicitor

We are recruiting for an Employment Law Solicitor in the Birmingham area with our well established client.

As an Employment Law Solicitoryou will need to have:
  • 5 years post qualified experience in employment law
  • Dealt with both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Previously represented both employees and employers
  • Working knowledge of the law on restrictive covenants
  • Appeared at the Employment Tribunal, at least on preliminary matters
  • Previously prepared ET1, ET3, particulars of claim and grounds of resistance
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to use your own vehicle for business purposes (mileage paid for)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computer-based client management systems such as leap (desirable)
  • Confident to manage relationships at senior level
  • Ability to communicate complex issues and concepts to non-lawyers

Details:
  • Salary: £37,000 - £43,000 per annum
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
  • Location: Working mainly from home after a familiarisation period at our offices in Birmingham
  • Duration: Permanent

Role of an Employment Law Solicitor:
  • Provide employment law services to our clients
  • Prepare contracts of employment
  • Advise on settlement agreements
  • Prepare staff handbooks
  • Liaising with clients, the Principal Solicitor and Barristers
  • Help clients deal with unfair dismissal claims, discrimination claims, redundancy issues, whistle blowing claims, TUPE issues
  • You will have your own case load which you will be expected to manage
