Tendering Engineer
Salary: £36,000 with overtime available.
Location: Warwickshire
Purpose of the Tendering Engineer role:
* To develop for tendering purposes and successfully implement cost effective MCC and ICA solutions for projects which meet the customers needs whilst meeting all relevant legislation and specification.
* To keep abreast of ever changing technologies and implement proven technology which offer savings to the business and to its clients to give a innovative approach.
* To support the Sales Dept in the development of robust, cost effective control solutions.
* To listen to the customers requirements and to come up with the solutions for tender prices on control solutions and MCC's. and to cover the requirements in a Technical write up.
* Pro-actively Value Engineer the solution in order to identify alternative materials, scope.
* Working within agreed MCS Control Systems Quality Systems and procedures.
* Working within the agreed timescales as required by the client.
* To make sure that prior to submittal of any tender to the client that the tender is reviewed by senior personnel
* Carry out Site surveys and accurately relay the detailed information to tender and or engineer.
* To keep abreast of ever changing technologies and recommend changes which offer savings to the business
* To be able to handover jobs tendered in detail to engineering covering Commercial and engineering content.
* To carry out all works deemed suitable by the company in the role that you have.
The Ideal Tendering Engineer will have Knowleadge of:
* Motor Control centres and also ICA Requirements although not essential.
* Control System experience.
* Commercial impact of design decisions
* Engineering Health and Safety and other Legislative Requirements.
Tendering Engineer Experience:
* Similar Sales role in a Tendering Environment
* Able to influence internally and externally at all levels.
* Appreciation of the commercial impact of design decisions and changes.
* Problem solving and innovation.
* Presentation and communication skills.
* Independence and personal drive.
* Can lead and be lead depending on level of input of a particular project
* Flexible approach to working.
Key relationships :
* Internal : Engineering Director, Design Manager, Commercial Manager, Company H&S Manager, Company QA Manager, Installation Engineers, Systems Engineers CAD, Sales Dept, Shop Floor
* External : Clients, Suppliers, Contractors, Designers, Consultants
