Senior Architectural Technician

Architectural Design Background

Primarily to deliver relevant aspects of design and technical support on the Standard Unit Types/portfolio

Secondary function is to assist on future &/or current schemes in design from inception through to post completion, including all day-to-day activities on projects in a timely manner to achieve the companies business strategy.

Leadership and management including customer service/values - Responsibility for assisting on the

consultant teams day to day activities on SUTs/portfolio as directed whilst setting an example in

delivering excellent customer service in line with our. Lead the first stage of SUT/portfolio

design and co-ordinate design work on units on the live sites through to the end of the process.

Strategy/achieving objectives -Contribute to design activities on SUTs/allocated schemes to meet

our objectives and key performance indicators. Assist with management of SUT/portfolio project

delivery in accordance with performance targets e.g. cost, quality and time. Advise on build design

and coordinate design work through to project completion. Contribute to strategic innovation in

the division and in the wider company business. Support the tender and procurement of project

services within the design function.

Working with others -internal - Work collaboratively with all in house teams that feed into the

SUT/portfolio project process or are affected by the outputs of it. Specifically liaise with the Sales

teams re saleability & Commercial teams regarding the cost effectiveness of the designs. Work

with project design/Construction teams to ensure appropriate forms & construction detailing,

looking at possible alternative designs.

Working with others -external -Assist with developing, maintaining and influencing relationships

with key stakeholders and partners, including third-party liaison with consultants and contractors.

Contribute to corporate stakeholder management.

Budgetary responsibility - Contribute towards the control of budgets within the design and

technical function. Contribute to meeting the divisional business plan. 5

Compliance - Ensure H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the job holder's


Records and systems - Maintain the necessary relevant company records and systems.

Risks - Manage risks associated with areas under the jobholder's control. Ensure that effective

controls are in place to highlight and limit risk. Conduct due diligence as necessary. 5
