We are currently recruiting for a Mullerlicious Quality Manager who loves working in small teams to produce some outstanding retailer dessert products. By joining our fast-moving chilled desserts factory based in Minsterley you will be catapulting your career in technical and quality duties. As Quality Manager, you will maintain, monitor and continually improve quality systems to the highest standard through a robust, scheduled, auditing process. If you're not a lead auditor, we will get you there with some development opportunities. We will need you at HACCP level 4 and again we can help here too for the right candidate. You will be inquisitive, investigative and resolve causes of quality non-conformance through root cause analysis and lead the Quality team in supporting Production in resolving day to day quality issues.

Some Key responsibilities but we don't expect a miracle, we will develop where relevant:

* Maintain a live development plan for Quality Team, manage the performance, capability and skill set, ensuring consistency across shifts by developing and mentoring of staff through coaching skills and recognised training courses/modules.

* Ensuring adherence by all parties to effective quality systems and procedures. Drive hygiene and GMP standards site-wide by co-ordinating and performing traceability studies as part of mock recalls, crisis management, audit requirements, etc.

* Make informed decisions regarding actions to be taken with non-conforming products or raw materials. Work with operations and/or the MYD Business Unit to resolve said issues.

* Delivery of quality KPI programmes such as complaint monitoring, taste panels, GMP, cost of non-quality.

* Report on quality trends (e.g. complaints) as required at site- and group-wide level. Utilise the data to identify potential trends and early warning triggers to prevent quality issues occurring.

* Work with the site H&S Manager on machinery upgrade projects to ensure H&S upgrades achieve their requirements without compromise to food safety by taking reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others that may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Skills and Experience:

* YOU: Proven people management/supervisory experience, Technically minded with a strong customer/business focus, logical, with attention to detail, Strength of character - able to challenge the status quo, Excellent influencing skills, Ability to work cross functionally and to be able to make informed decisions quickly with limited detail, Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels, Key project management skills, Problem solving, with full closure, monitoring and review

* Technical: Qualified to HACCP Level 3 and Food safety level 4 (can develop)/Knowledge of microbiology is desirable, Competent with Microsoft Office - especially Excel and Word, Experience of retailer and BRC standards and High care/high risk product experience would be desirable and the icing on the cake!
