My client, a leading global logistics provider, is looking for an HR Advisor to join their team in Lichfield, Staffs.

Role: HR Advisor

Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire

Salary: Negotiable

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm (candidates must be flexible and able to work additional hours if required by the business

To provide support, advice and guidance on a wide range of HR related issues to managers and employees across the business

To deliver a professional and efficient HR service to all areas of the business throughout the UK specifically ERF, or as designated by the UK HR manager.

To participate as a key member of the HR department in the delivery of the HR strategy/ plan in line with the commercial needs of the business.

To work collaboratively with all members of the department including providing cover where required and collective responsibility for the delivery of a professional support service to the business.

  • To provide telephone and face to face advice and support to all Managers / employees within the business on a wide range of HR issues and or matters escalating to the HR & Development BP if required.
  • To provide assistance and support to the HR Manager and HR & Development Business partner as and when required.
  • Supporting UK HR Manager and HR & Development Business Partner to provide support, assistance and guidance to all UK Managers in dealing with disciplinary, grievance, poor performance and absence management related matters.
  • Assist the UK HR Manager in the compilation and updating of all HR policies and procedures within the UK in line with best practice and current employment legislation.
  • Responsible for the co ordination of and the undertaking of drug and alcohol testing as and when required.
  • To track, identify and co ordinate all occupational health assessments relating to drivers and night workers.
  • To co ordinate, monitor and review occupational health referral and assessments as and when required or directed.
  • To produce, co ordinate and process all correspondence relating to recruitment, new starters, contract variations/amendments, probation reviews, family friendly policies and leavers (in conjunction with the HR administrator where applicable)
  • To coordinate/deliver monthly group new starter inductions, held at the UK Head Office.
  • To maintain the training database ensuring that it is up to date and that the company remains compliant at all times with all aspects of statutory/ mandatory training.
  • To monitor, record and review sickness absence in line with the Bradford Factor in conjunction with the HR Administrator escalating any complex cases to the HRDBP.
  • To work with the UK managers/ supervisors on all areas of recruitment and selection in line with current legislation and company procedures and standard practice including advertising all internal/external roles in line with the ATR requirements and updating and maintaining the UK organigrams and job descriptions on a monthly basis.
  • To work with the UK HR Manager in the implementation and delivery of the appraisal process, personal development plans and the identified training needs in line with agreed targets set by Head Office
  • To work with the UK HR Manager & Global HR to ensure that the UK is fully compliant with global requirements such as training and development.
  • To coordinate the usage of Helios HR in the UK, ensuring that the database in maintained at all times in line with the Global job title template.
  • To work alongside Marketing to identify training and coordinate the usage of the company Learning Experience platform, ensuring that all training information is entered and to maintain appropriate UK HR intranet pages.
  • Co ordination of the UK internship programme and being a primary point of contact for all interns both prior to and during their stay in the UK
  • Co ordination with the HR manager and agreed training provider in the promotion and implementation of the apprenticeship scheme for the company.
  • To work with the Payroll Analyst in providing monthly HR metrics on absence, turnover, recruitment and overtime costs.


Mininum 2 years experience as HR Advisor

Preferably from a logistics/industry/manufacturing environment

CIPD or working towards full membership



Good team player

Working knowledge of current UK legislation


Strong IT Skills
