My client is a Multinational environmental services company with locations around the world. They are looking to add to their IT Support function due to an exciting period of IT growth and projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the fault resolution for user and systems based issues. Key to the role will be the ability to analyse the issues and drive improvements to both the user experience and systems availability/stability. In addition, the role will manage the maintenance of our infrastructure to ensure its ongoing availability, resilience and compliance position.

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Fault resolution for user and systems based issues.
  • Proactively monitor the infrastructure to ensure maximum availability.
  • Maintain all infrastructure elements to assure maximum availability.
  • Provide recommendations and improvements on the current infrastructure.
  • Reduce the number of user faults (incidents) through analysis of faults, root cause and trends; implementing solution enhancement or process changes as required.
  • Maintain and conduct platform maintenance on all infrastructure elements

Experience you will need:

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with cloud-native technologies, (particularly those of AWS, Microsoft and Google), Windows Server experience Wintel platform administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc) and a good understanding of the AWS infrastructure stack and VMWare technologies.

You will have excellent knowledge of issue management and fault resolution, storage systems and desktop/application virtualisation, patch management and system maintenance, continual service improvement, scripting knowledge/skills (PowerShell) and the ability to understand and adapt quickly to new requirements, environments and software.

Good customer facing skills and problem solving and diagnostic skills are essential for you to be successful in this role. Further experience of Backup & Restores, user files and full systems recovery, anti-virus systems management and compliance, working across multiple technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP, Cisco, Checkpoint.) and SQL is essential.
