Senior Power Electronics Engineer - Kenilworth - GBP Competitive + Excellent benefits

A Senior Power Electronics Engineer is required for an expanding, high-technology engineering company. The successful candidate will design, build and test power electronic systems for high speed automotive motor applications and will play a key part in ensuring future success within this fast-moving industry sector.

You will work within a highly-regarded and multi-disciplinary engineering team, reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer.

As Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will

  • Be an innovative, confident and enthusiastic power electronics engineer, eager to join a busy engineering team
  • Generate designs based on technical specifications for high speed motor drives.
  • Design and simulate power electronics, gate drive and control circuits including physical layout.
  • Assist in building and testing of prototype power electronics and control systems.
  • Provide technical liaison and support for customers worldwide.
  • Participate in and lead the creation of functional specifications, DVP, FMEA, test procedures.
  • Manage customer-driven and internal projects.
  • Assist with design and verification of embedded control software.
  • Work with mechanical engineers to integrate electronics in to products including thermal design.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in functionality and manufacture.

As Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will

  • Have extensive experience of power electronics design.
  • Ideally have experience of motor drive design for high-speed motors.
  • Have worked within an automotive environment on new product designs.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards and working practices (e.g. ISO16750).
  • PCB circuit design and optimisation (performance and cost).
  • Practical, hands-on experience of prototype circuit build, test and result analysis.
  • Good team working, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience of leading a team or mentoring junior engineers.
