About the role

As we embark on an exciting period of growth at the Canal & River Trust, we are looking for an experienced legacy executive to support the administration of, and develop and deliver our legacy programme.

You will help establish our legacy and stewardship programme to grow legacy pledges, ensuring a great supporter experience. With excellent organisation skills you will ensure our programme runs smoothly, whilst helping deliver a marketing and communications programme and activities. You will be both sensitive to audience requirements and passionate about the opportunity waterways have around legacy giving. Cultivating relationships with volunteers, regular donors and teams throughout the Trust will be essential as will a keen eye for detail, ensuring ongoing administration of the programme.

You may be expected to also support the wider supporter care and fundraising team. There could also be some work at events which could be evenings and weekends and must be able to travel.

About you

To succeed, you will need a proven track record of administering legacy programmes and campaigns. Your experience will mean you are equally comfortable with helping to run legacy marketing campaigns and events, alongside managing and running the day-to-day delivery of a programme including all the administration.You will be confident and comfortable in the sensitive stewardship of a range of prospects, supporters and key external partners.

You must have experience of liaising with specialist agencies and suppliers and will have worked on legacy programmes that have shown significant growth. A good knowledge of GDPR, systems and fundraising best practice is essential as is a keen eye for details and administration tasks.

The role sits within our Marketing & Supporter Development team team and will be based at our offices at the heart of the canal network, in central Birmingham.
