£30k to 35K dependent on experience.


Our client , An established manufacturing company based in Coleshill are looking to recruit an EH&S Leader on a permanent basis. The role of EH&S Lead reports to the Operations Director and has day to day responsibility for All aspects of daily management of health, safety, and environmental management within the workplace. This entails working closely with the Operations and Manufacturing Managers, Supply Chain personnel, HR, Engineering, Technical, and group colleagues.

• Regulatory compliance - Ensuring compliance with legal all current legislation, codes of practice and relevant standards.• Maintenance of, but not limited to; permits, risk assessments, permits to work, EH&S training etc.• Ongoing maintenance of management systems, policies and procedures. • Integrate and harmonise EH&S systems with EH&S Management systems. • Managing all aspects of reporting within Enablon: including but not limited to; reporting of accidents and incidents, LTIS, NOVs, RIRs, KPIsetc. • Act as the business unit's representative for SEMS committee meetings, and for reporting within the requirements of SEMS • Represent the business on the EMEA safety council • Chair EH&S committee meetings • Communication & training of alerts, and for responsibility for associated action / improvement plans.• Management of internal and external audits and inspections. • In conjunction with HR colleagues all aspects of health screening and ongoing surveillance, including dealing with occupational. • In line with company policy, coordination Incident / near miss / accident investigations. • EH&S Induction for employees and contractors • Where instructed dealing with third party insurers regarding claims for industrial injury or similar. These responsibilities are in no order of priority and are not exhaustive, other duties and responsibilities may be added, and where necessary appropriate training will be given.

The Successful Candidate

Typically requires 3-5 Years business related experience in an industrial manufacturing / process environment, NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma, or Higher qualification in Health, Safety, and Environmental management. Degree or higher-level qualification in Engineering ,Good standard of GCSE / A level or equivalent in Maths & English ,Computer literate - intermediate level or above in Word and Excel , Six Sigma qualifications , Experience/knowledge Experience of day to day management of EH&S requirements in a large multi-disciplined organisation ,Dealing with corporate requirements , Managing EH&S requirements within a range of manufacturing process & warehouse environments Cable Management / Mechanical / Electrical environments ,Full conversant with ISO14001, BSOHSAS 18001, & ISO45001 , Collaborating with International colleagues within the wider organisation , Skills/Abilities Must be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are presidents. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to work independently an on own initiative and take ownership of own workload. Calming influence, able to cope under pressure and in challenging circumstances , Behavioural Competencies Drive - willingness to go the 'extramile'
