The role.

The primary role of the Senior Project Controller is to lead the Project Controls Profession within a Business Unit, develop the controls function to professional standards with trained and professionally qualified controllers and act as the Subject Matter Expert SME for the Project Controls community.

The role will ensure efficiency, effectiveness and consistency across the business that promotes the work of the function. They are required to act as a leader of this function within QinetiQ in collaboration and support of the business.

Overall Supervision and leadership of the Project Controls teams within a Business Unit in line with the BU Strategy. The Controls function will align with IDT, Programme and Business Strategy, the role will also have a collaboration requirement with all other Group and PMO functions and services.

Key Accountabilities.

You will be supporting a Senior Project Controllers in the provision of support to IDTs and other large and complex strategic programmes.

You will be delivering project support tasks within assigned team; MS Project, lifecycle briefcase, project reporting, invoicing and other project document creation and management.

As Senior Project Controller, you will be responsible for the delivery of project finance; debtors and cash collection, calculation of accruals, collation of cost journals and facility costs.

You will be supporting PCP&R improvement activity, and sharing knowledge skills and best practice.

The Senior Project Controller should be able to influence and align others towards the vision for the project controls, and to empower & inspire people to achieve success.

You need to be able to effectively communicate as part of a two-way interaction, using a range of techniques, to ensure the received meaning matches the transmitted meaning.

The Senior Project Controller should have good stakeholder management skills. You should be able to identify, plan and implement actions to positively engage parties with an interest in, or influence over, the project outputs.

You need to be competent with negotiation & Conflict Management, you should be able to identify and address differences of objective, attitude or perception in order to produce an agreed outcome for all parties.
