Our client is seeking a Hr Business Partner on an initial 1 Year contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 Hours

Pay Rate: £17.52 P/H PAYE

Job Purpose:

To provide a comprehensive and professional HR service that supports the Council in achieving its strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Providing specialist expert advice on all aspects of employment and recruitment within the HR remit at all levels across the Council and partnership organisations using best practice; challenging when appropriate.

* Ensuring that own professional knowledge is current and up to date to ensure the Council is legal; initiating, researching, developing/updating policies, procedures and imparting knowledge to managers to support this through appropriate training initiatives.

* Support Service Area change management activities, including reorganisations and workforce remodelling, to align outcomes with the needs of the services, strategic objectives, legal and procedural obligations.

* Establishing productive and proactive dialogue with employees and their representatives to develop services, facilitate change, resolve conflict and promote a positive working environment.

* Manage, monitor and review the Corporate Equality & Diversity strategy to ensure the Council is compliant and it is embedded across Service Areas to support the One Council ethos.

* Manage, monitor and review the Corporate Apprenticeship Scheme to provide an effective support for Service Areas in the recruitment, training and mentoring of Apprentices and evaluation of the Scheme.

* Update relevant HR systems to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring

* Assist in the implementation of the Councils People Strategy to ensure that initiatives and projects are co-ordinated, monitored and support the achievement of the Councils corporate objectives

Skills and Experience:

* Post graduate Diploma in Personnel Management - Graduate CIPD (or working towards final year of completion)

* and

* Ability to demonstrate substantial experience of working within a professional HR role, which is likely to have been gained with five years or more experience

* Experience of writing HR policies and procedures

* Experience of supporting organisational change programmes within an HR role

* Experience of working with a broad range of employee relations related issues and recruitment and selection methods and techniques

* Experience of providing advice and guidance to line managers on people-related issues

* Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and best practice approaches to HR

* Politically sensitive and astute
