37.5 hours per week / Permanent in Shrewsbury

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals who can cook traditional homemade food in our ShireLiving schemes in Shropshire.

The working environment:

ShireLiving is a premium housing brand offering luxury apartments and facilities for the over 55s age group. Our aim is to create a hotel-standard environment for tenants.

Our developments are attractive, modern buildings that allow tenants to live independently in modern apartments, with the convenience of having all the help and support they need on their doorstep and the added benefit of being part of a friendly community.

Our aim is to provide a range of services on-site that match the needs of residents. These services include catering facilities, which cover the following:
  • Breakfast and lunch service in our attractive, on-site cafes - open to residents, their friends and families, and the local community
  • Individual catering packages for tenants, with room service where required
  • Event catering for social activities

Our tenants remain at the heart of every ShireLiving development, and we expect all staff to deliver the same standard of exceptional customer service.

ShireLiving is a partnership between The Wrekin Housing Group and care provider Choices Housing. Catering staff will be employees of The Wrekin Housing Group.

What you will need:

As a ShireLiving manager, you will play a leading role in in being the 'face' of the ShireLiving. You will require excellent organisational and presentation skills and a passion for producing quality food. Successful candidates will be expected to engage with our tenants and visitors as well as colleagues and suppliers so excellent communication skills are also a must. The roles require people to be able to adapt to the needs of our customers.

You will be working in a demanding and fast-paced environment, so you must be a conscientious and hard-working individual who is willing to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional service.

A Basic Food Hygiene certificate is essential for this role.
