A global automotive component manufacturer situated in a brand new state of the art facility in Shropshire require a Quality Technician to interface with production and be the quality lead for advice, guidance and implementation of quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in automotive, hold an understanding of quality best practices and be flexible to work shifts.

Package: GBP23,000 - GBP30,000 p.a. % Shift allowance +Benefits

Working hours: Week 1: 6am 2pm Week 2: 2pm 10pm Week 3: 10pm 6am

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

-Support quality activities leading up to launch and in production.
-Develop quality based work instructions and assist in training to be rolled out.
-Support final inspection product reviews and data analysis.
-Manage the calibration log and carry out routine audits.
-Operate all quality laboratory and measuring equipment.
-Partake in a large percentage of shop floor activities; audits, 1st offs, inspection, quarantine management and goods inwards inspection.

The Person

Candidates must be flexible to work on shifts and ideally have experience in the following:

-Preferably educated to a minimum of diploma level in a mechanical engineering discipline.
-Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
-An understanding of quality best practices such as APQP, PPAP, MSA and SPC.
-Previous experience using x-ray machines and hand held measurement equipment is advantageous.
