Seymour John are recruiting for three Product Owners on behalf of large Public Sector organisation based in Birmingham. This organisation are going through an exciting change programme following a recent merger and have a number of new opportunities within their IT team.
Reporting to the Business Change Manager you will be responsible for managing project delivery, acting as a key coordinator between the Business Change team, business users and software developers and suppliers. You will work with the Business Change team to develop user stories and to define acceptance criteria. The Product Owner will lead the solutions development team: providing vision and direction, organising, prioritising and assessing the work.
The successful candidate will facilitate the roll-out of products that deliver the company's vision. As Product Owner you will maintain subject matter expertise on the functional capabilities of the business systems and products in use. The Product Owner will identify user needs, assess value, develop cases and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
Skills and experience:
As a key project delivery agent, you will have strong business analysis and project management skills coupled with good technical knowledge.
You will hold a Price 2 and/or Agile PM certification. The successful candidate will have prior experience as a Product Owner or a similar role in Technology Solution Delivery where you've had hand on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle. You will have formal Project Management experience and will be able to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
You will have experience of Agile processes and principles. You will have experience of deriving user stories and acceptance criteria. Experience of release planning and coordination of release activities.
The successful candidate will have outstanding presentation and leadership skills, excellent communication and negotiation skills. You'll have an eye for detail and a broad technical understanding.
