HEALTHCARE SCIENCE PRACTITIONER

FOR NEW HEALTHCARE PROVISION IN BIRMINGHAM

One-day per week (Wednesday's) £9:50 per hour Daytime hours

**Full Level 6 Healthcare Science Practitioner training provided**

Would suit existing Healthcare Practitioners with extensive experience

Inclusive of clinical and advanced /technological level training at Level 6 within the Cardiology and Respiratory training area

Should already have a level 5 and or equivalent within the healthcare sector

Job description

undertake delegated clinical technical audits in your area of work

Technical Scientific Services

independently analyse/interpret accurately clinical technical data

be responsible for the safety and functioning of equipment

present/explain technical results to other professionals & patients

coordinate drafting of SOPs & updating techniques/procedures

evaluate and implement solutions to clinical technical problems

Clinical Care

ensure that responsibilities for safeguarding and protecting patient confidentiality, including record keeping, are met

conduct sensitive discussions with patients as required, including obtaining meaningful consent

Carry out ECG's tests and interpret results under supervision

Carry out respiratory tests and interpret results under supervision

supervise the delivery of high quality clinical technical procedures

Audit/Service Improvement

manage audit and/or service improvement programmes

act on the outcomes of audit/service improvement programmes

Research & Innovation

use research, reasoning and problem-solving skills to support quality care improvements/innovation in your area of work

Leadership

coordinate leadership activities across a HCS technical team

PROMOTION OF TRAINING CLINIC

To foster good relationships with the local community including the appropriate statutory and voluntary organisations.

To ensure and promote the Clinic as a place of excellence in delivering care.

Any other such duties that may reasonably be considered within the scope of the post.

General responsibilities

To contribute constructively to internal meetings

To undertake training and development in order to improve effectiveness

To attend hospital placements as and when required to gain further development

To manage own administration and manage time effectively

To contribute to a clear focus on driving improvements in quality, impact and performance

To comply with the policies and procedures

To deal with referrals, and to carry out assessments of prospective Service Users within the clinic.

Ensure sensitive introduction of Service Users into the clinic.

To monitor and review the Service Users' needs and provide a person-centred programme of care.

To comply with regulatory body requirements

* manage delegated junior staff training in security/health/safety practices that underpin their work, especially in infection control
