We are delighted to be working exclusively with Acorns Children's Hospice to find a dynamic and experienced fundraising manager to lead their 'Save Walsall Hospice Appeal'. The appeal, launched last month has already begun to gather immense interest and support but the charity is looking for a fundraiser who is experienced in community, events and corporate fundraising team management who can hit the ground running and turn all the interest into donations.

Acorns is the largest UK children's hospice charity with 3 hospices in Walsall, Birmingham and Worcester. Fundraising remains critical for the future of the charity, but specifically the Walsall hospice. A funding shortfall meant that the Board had to consider closing Walsall and therefore the 233 children and families would need to travel to Birmingham for continued care. But on 19th July, Acorns were able to announce a postponement of the closure and a decision about its future will depend on the commitments the 'Save Walsall Hospice Appeal' is able to secure.

So if you are fundraiser with brilliant communicative skills, an superbly-organised mind backed up with local knowledge of the Black Country, then please get in touch. The specifics of the role are as follows:

Raise the funds Acorns needs to run the Walsall Hospice in line with the Appeal financial target

Manage the Appeal's fundraising team

Create the best possible supporter experience for the donors, volunteers and partners

Maximise Acorn's reputation with the local community

Communicate consistently and effectively, both internally and externally

Enjoy a close and mutually supportive relationship with the local hospice team

Play a part in making Acorn's a fantastic place to work and volunteer.

The role is home-based with regular travel to the region and the Walsall Hospice.

This is an incredibly significant role for a immensely important charity in the region. If you think you've got the charisma and fundraising knowledge to lead this appeal, please get in touch with us ASAP. We can tell you a lot more about the role and help you put together a brilliant application.
