The services of a Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) is required to support a Warwick based consultancy. They are looking for someone with experience in the delivery of building services projects, across a variety of sectors (including science and technology, nuclear, and waste and environmental), major local developments and multi-disciplinary work.
Key Objectives
* Design and specify all aspects of mechanical building services in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulations
* Contribute to the design planning, resourcing and fee planning of specific project teams
* Contribute to the development of the mechanical services department as required
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* To undertake engineering services design and consultancy work
* To undertake an appropriate level of resource, technical/quality, financial management and business development responsibility and control
* To undertake calculations, production of drawings, specifications and reports, site surveys, construction stage
* duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty required to comply with the project brief
Person Specification
* You will be a chartered engineer, degree qualified in Building Services or similar.
* A member of a Professional institute such as CIBSE or IET, Fellow would be advantageous
* Proven track record in mechanical services design, in particular the following market sectors:
* Transportation, including Rail, Underground and Airports
* Commercial and Mixed use
* Public Sector, including Education, Defence, Healthcare and Custodial
* Proven track record of project delivery, together with notable projects across a variety of sectors (including science and technology, nuclear, and waste and environmental), major local developments and multi-disciplinary work
* The ability to lead teams of engineers as part of multi-discipline design team
* Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally with an open and inclusive style
Technical skills and experience
* Proven track record in mechanical services design, in particular the following market sectors:
* Transportation, including Rail, Underground and Airports
* Commercial and Mixed use
* Public Sector, including Education, Defence, Healthcare and Custodial
* Proven track record of project delivery, together with notable projects across a variety of sectors (including science and technology, nuclear, and waste and environmental), major local developments and multi-disciplinary work
* The ability to lead teams of engineers as part of multi-discipline design team
* Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally with an open and inclusive style
* Fully conversant with technical and legislation requirements for Mechanical services equipment and installation design and management
