Interim Assistant Warehouse Manager: 3-6 month contract initially

£ negotiable

Hours: 7.45am - 4.30pm Mon-Thurs, 7.45am - 1.30pm Fri

For over 35 years, Golden Bear Products Ltd have been transforming some of the nation's much-loved children's TV characters into high quality toys for both kids and adults to enjoy. We are preparing for a period of growth and want to modernise our existing warehouse/despatch area but we can't do this on our own. We are looking for someone to work directly with our Warehouse Manager and help us with this project for a period of 3 - 6 months and so naturally are looking for someone to bring bags of experience and who can hit the ground running.

Core objective: work closely with Operations Manager (at a busy time for the business) on improvement projects as defined through our 'Project Change'.

  • Helping to design/introduce and implement best practice systems and new ERP solution
  • Demonstrable experience in excellent warehouse practices - will be looking for this role to take an objective view of current processes, implement improvements and put in place relevant SOPs
  • Quality / H&S / FLT a bonus but probably all or at least one is part of this person's skillset
  • Good system skills - ERP or other - used to computerised picking system - despatch and all linking into sales admin, credit control, invoicing etc
  • Good IT skills - Excel / Word to write up SOPs
  • Used to KPI's/metrics and performance management
  • Understands imports / container shipping
  • Good trainer of people
  • Gravitas - warehouse team need to respect you. (Experience in people management / supervisory management - including performance management and managing conflict)
  • Change management experience
