Are you an experienced Machinist looking for an opportunity to develop into management?

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Machinist with supervisory experience, to lead a new machining area and coordinate projects and new initiatives.

Pay - GBP14.50 PER HOUR
37 HOURS PER WEEK - Monday to Thursday
Set shift pattern of 07:30AM-17:15PM
Flexible working arrangements will be considered based on the needs of the businessResponsibilities:

You will be working with and leading an experienced team of 15 dedicated Machinists working together to produce high quality, world renowned products for the construction industry
Developing the team, delivering against the production plan, exceeding cost targets where possible and ensuring that products are defect free
Understanding the overall flow of the areas and the technical aspects of the component for features generated
Ensuring safety standards and procedures are followed
Adjusting area staffing to meet schedule requirements and supporting the section's production plan
Effective communication
Report out on the area's status relative to plan
Identify quality, personnel, safety and production issues
Responsible for owning the metrics for the area
Responsible for generating and working Continuous Improvement ideas for the area

Requirements:

A broad machining or operational background - sound understanding and working knowledge of machining and machining processes
Previous experience of leading a team and coaching others.
Highly knowledgeable in the reworking of one off parts and the skill involved in order to salvage
Capable communicator with a clear customer focus
Committed problem solver to work in a multi-tasking environment
Team Builder with positive, team-oriented attitude
Desirable:
Competent in QSI
Proficient PC skills
Engineering or manufacturing systems experience
Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations Competent in MFGPRO or similar ERP systemsDon't delay in applying for the opportunity; we are interviewing for the role in the coming weeks with an immediate start available.
