This highly reputable and well established company is looking for a Calibration and Lifting Equipment Engineer to work as part of their active team in the Midlands. They offer a salary up to GBP27,000 with benefits that include life insurance and pension.

About the role:
You will be working in a busy, varied field based role. It is a busy, fast paced position and includes a lot of travelling, covering sites across the South of England from the Midlands. Duties will include:
  • Visiting customers' premises to undertake service, maintenance and installation of lifts, brake testers, compressors and other associated equipment
  • Dealing with varied customers, small and large in the public and commercial sectors
  • Implementing, maintaining and servicing both light and heavy duty equipment
  • Building relationships and liaising with service managers and co-ordinators at head office to ensure work load is adhered to
  • Travelling and nights away from home to meet the demands of customers
  • The role involves been active and includes a large amount of manual lifting.

Skills and Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background within either a calibration engineer role or other role involving the calibration of small equipment or possibly have experience of loose lifting equipment such as shackles and slings. A vehicle technician looking to move into a new role may also be a consideration. Experience in fork lift trucks or the platform, lifting gear or garage equipment industry would be beneficial but is not essential. You will ideally have experience and knowledge of PUWER & LOLER regulations and hold or be willing to work towards the LEEA qualification or equivalent. A full current driving licence is essential.

The benefits:
  • A salary of up to GBP27,000 dependant on experience
  • Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm standard week - Must be flexible due to customer's demands
  • Time and half paid for travel / working hours before 8.30am and after 5.30pm
  • Fully equiped company van fully provided
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (Increases to 25 days holidays after 5yrs service)
  • Pension scheme
