Finance & Commercial Business Analyst required for an excellent medium-sized support services group based near Kidderminster. With an annual turnover in the region just shy of £50m, this group has grown considerably in recent years, and now has the need for an additional head in the team to support their busy finance function.

As the Finance & Commercial Business Analyst, your responsibility will be removed from the churn of month end reporting, and focus more on extraction of data and analysis/commentary to play an active role in operational business partnering. Your key working relationships (outside of finance) will include the Operations Director and Commercial Director, and supporting the projects of their various teams.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Producing monthly management information for the monthly MI and board packs
  • Producing profitability/cost analysis of business units and individual product lines
  • Analysis of projects to enable decision making and support project delivery, specifically around the Operations and Commercial divisions
  • Communicating analytical work through reporting (e.g. dashboards, MI, etc.) and providing insight around potential developments and impacts of key decisions
  • Project appraisals, investment appraisals and capex appraisal
  • FP&A responsibilities, including supporting the Finance Director with budgeting, cash flow and forecasting analysis
  • Ad hoc project work and financial accounting support when required

Person requirementsThe ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or ACMA qualified with relevant post-qualification experience. You will be of a highly analytical mindset and able to effectively business partner outside of the finance function. Previous experience affecting decision making within operational and/or commercial divisions is required.
