Business Insight Consultant
You live and breathe data. This business relies totally on having access to up-to-date, accurate data that supports strategic and operational decisions.
Talk about a match made in heaven.
About the business
14 years have passed since this business was established and in that time, they've gone from being a backroom start-up to having a strong and growing presence in 5 countries with three large offices in the UK alone.
Their rapid expansion means new projects, growing teams, constant challenges and incredible opportunities for development.
Finally, the firm's unique business model relies on maintaining and continually improving the best possible website and they know it. That's why their analysts are the stars of the show.
About the role
In the role, you'll be working to support decisions by leading MI projects, delivering solutions and offering analytical consultancy within the business. You'll also conduct analysis projects that deliver valuable insights on KPIs, customer segments and value models.
Steve Jobs once said, "customers don't know what they want until we've shown them", and that applies to MI too. Part of your role will be to work with internal business functions to identify their reporting and analytical needs, providing information in line with the business' priorities.
Tech and data obviously go hand in hand and you'll regularly liaise with the internal tech team to improve reporting solutions, contributing to the promotion of detailed data and awareness across the business.
We're not sure if anyone can be truly passionate about data, but you should at least be enthusiastic about data and the value it can add to the business.
The business is looking for a candidate with a relevant degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or something similar; however, equivalent practical experience is great too.
You'll have experience of developing reporting solutions and data visualisations that make accurate data accessible to other functions. To do that, you'll have used BI tools like Qlik, Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos or an alternative.
Strong SQL skills, combined with a developed understanding of database design will help you greatly in the role, as will the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time.
Finally, as a natural problem solver, you'll be more than capable of taking business requirements and delivering insight solutions that meet them. This will require you to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders internally.
