City of Wolverhampton College is looking for an Lecturer in Training - Engineering to join their team in Wolverhampton. You will work on a full time basis working 35 hours per week and in return you will receive a competitive salary of GBP23,877 - GBP36,117 per annum.
The Lecturer in Training - Engineering Role:
You will provide excellent learning opportunities and add value through enrichment activities that inspire and promote learner engagement and achievement through a range of programmes on our premises or as requested by the Employer. You'll lead on the recruitment, retention and achievement of students and contribute towards the pastoral care of students.
Key responsibilities of our Lecturer in Training - Engineering will include:
- Create effective assessment schedules and resources allowing flexibility and repeatability to ensure student inclusion.
- Deliver effective classroom management and lead by example
- Undertake the role of career coach and manage/facilitate pastoral meetings
- Promote and implement strategies within teaching and learning sessions that support students with differentiated learning needs
- Report safeguarding incidents to the designated lead or school safeguarding champion as appropriate.
- Meet organisational and awarding body deadlines, commitments individually and as part of the team
- Participate in recruitment events such as open days
- Ensure the safety of learners at all time and ensure that all your learners use safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided for specific tasks or working area.
As our Lecturer in Training - Engineering you'll need:
- Teaching Qualification i.e. DTLLS, Cert Ed., or PGCE or be willing to work towards.
- An appropriate level of qualification in the subject areas
- Suitable experience and/or the capacity to design and deliver teaching and learning or training
- Delivery of embedding English & Math's skills, equality & diversity alongside the main programme
- Experience, subject specialism and relevant qualifications in the subject/vocational area
- Experience of delivering to Awarding Body standards including marking and assessment work
- The ability to deliver excellence in teaching, learning and tutoring
- Awareness and understanding of service user's confidentiality
- The ability to recognize discrimination and to demonstrate an awareness of equality and diversity
- Excellent standard of written/verbal communication skills in order to provide appropriate feedback
- The ability to increase recruitment, retention and achievement whilst maintaining quality standards
- IT skills in Word/Excel/Powerpoint
- Able to manage classroom activity to ensure learning is maximised
Other qualities that would be desirable include:
- Relevant qualification the level of above the level that is being taught
- Experience across different Awarding Bodies, setting up new programmes
- Ability to move between sites in a timely manner
- Able to obtain a clean DBS approval
