Health & Safety Advisor - Birmingham or London

Job type- Full time permanent

Salary- GBP31,860

Hours- 35 per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

Location- Birmingham or London, southwark

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety practitioner with a NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent), ideally with exposure to audit processes. The purpose of the job is to ensure that Nacro's health & safety strategy, management systems and policies & procedures are compliant with its legal responsibilities and represent good practice.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To ensure relevant, effective advice and guidance is given to line managers
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policy and procedural requirements
  • Recommend, agree and execute a programme of independent audits
  • Work with line managers to ensure they take a swift and effective remedial action as appropriate
  • Drive the improvement of the Health & Safety policy, procedures and practice throughout the organisation
  • Championing Health and Safety at all level.
  • Effective engagement with all directorates both daily at a working level and via Health and Safety Management Groups and Health & Safety Committee
