Melbreck Technical are working with a world leader who specialise in the design and manufacture of specialist equipment for the motion control, hydraulic and pneumatic sectors.

Our client is looking for an EHS Lead to plan, organise, coordinate and manage the implementation of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainable polices.

The main objective is to create an effective and continually improving environment for the workforce including sustainability (Energy efficiency).

Main responsibilities:

* Developing and deploying relevant policies policies

* Implement controls to comply with compny directives

* Maintain knowledge base on EHS and Energy legislation, European legislation

* EHS auditing, policy, risk and training structures, with active inspections, reviews and specialist EHS Training courses.

* First Aid provisions, Fire and other Specialist Risk Assessments (Noise; COSHH; Legionella; Ergonomics; Pressure Systems; and Workplace etc)

* Support all functions and value streams to meet their own and corporate EHSE targets

* Accountable for compliance to locations EHSE metrics and standards of performance

* Liaison/consultant to key departments on joint requirements - Management of Change

* Support the locations business continuity planning

* Identification and management of waste streams

* Work with the Quality Assurance and Compliance functions

Skills required:


1. Suitable qualified in Environmental Health and Safety. Minimal requirements level 3 for co-ordinator, Level 4 for Leaders and above for Managers with other relevant qualifications

2. Risk Management systems

3. Experience within a UK manufacturing environment


1. Electrical / Electronic and Manufacturing qualification's and experience

2. Professional institution memberships - IOSH, iema, IET etc

3. Training / Trainer experience

Ideally we look for someone who would be willing to take on 6 months contract position with a possibility for moving into permanent role.
