Business Development Manager

The Big Picture

My client is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business.

What you'll be doing
  • To identify opportunities for increasing margins
  • To identify new business opportunities
  • To maintain and enhance existing client relationships
  • To listen to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale
  • To cold call to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
  • To respond to incoming emails and phone enquiries in a timely fashion
  • To be able to negotiate the terms of an agreement and close a sale
  • To gather market and customer information
  • To represent the company at trade exhibitions and events
  • To gain a clear understanding of customers' business and requirements

  • To be able to use computer applications effectively
  • To demonstrate efficient and professional communication skills

  • Experience of working in a pressurised sales environment
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent motivation and desire to succeed

  • Knowledge of the FE sector and funded programs
  • First Aid qualified

Health & Safety / Risk Assessment qualified
