  • Develop, contribute to and enact an Collins Aerospace Actuation Systems wide Manufacturing and Technology strategy

  • Develop guidelines to de-risk future product introduction for projects being worked in current technology acquisition programs

  • Identify and develop discriminating approaches for manufacturing products

  • Ensure that the products are designed with full regard being given to productionisation -- addressing DFM, DFA, DTC, PPAP and PRA

  • Help the product introduction team to strike an optimum balance between the often conflicting requirements of DFM, DFA, DTC, PPAP and PRA

  • Develop the manufacturing engineering capability across APS aligned to technology & C of E Strategy by developing people and processes through training and leading by example

  • To understand the manufacturing engineering skills and experience across APS and to identify where personnel could be deployed and developed to add maximum value

  • To understand the tools that are available to assist in manufacturing engineering for both drawing production and the analysis and risk assessment of components and products and to ensure that the optimum tool set is deployed across Collins Aerospace Actuation Systems and utilised correctly.

  • To define and deploy metrics to measure Manufacturing Engineering Performance & Progression

  • Any information that is gathered that is important to other businesses in Collins Aerospace should be disseminated.

  • The successful applicant may be required, when applicable, to delegate for his / her boss

  • An input to the strategic plan.

  • To help with any problem that may be identified

  • To represent Collins Aerospace Actuation Systems on activities such as audits, industry presentations and seminars etc.

  • Be based in Wolverhampton, UK or St Ouen, France and will be the Leader of a team of experts operating across CollinsAerospace - Actuation Systems.

  • Have a highly developed capability and experience and leadership in manufacturing engineering.

  • Have the ability to make high level business assessments of project status and risks

  • Have the ability to engage in detail issues, a strategic thinker.
  • Have proven leadership skills
