The Customer Service Sales Professional will report to the Director - Aftersales

Job Overview

The primary purpose of the role is to build relationships with a wider customer base offering preventative service packages our client's customers and service and diagnostics for other engine brands within defined industry sectors.

A secondary purpose of the role is to have an active input in setting up mobile service engineer teams within the Company specialising in the diagnosis of exhaust after treatment malfunctions and the repair and maintenance of equipment in chosen applications.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Systematically approach potential customers within the construction and agricultural market sectors including rental companies, end-user rental customers of construction equipment, agricultural equipment dealers and other specified aftermarket dealer networks

* Cross-sell and up-sell between existing accounts as well as developing new customers

* Identify opportunities to expand the project scope through customer engagement and value engineering

* Identify opportunities to sell service maintenance agreements

* Take an active role in the recruitment of sub-teams of mobile service engineers

* Plan and develop daily work plans and training programs to ensure compliance with corporate values in particular HS& E.

* Liaise with management on a weekly basis and provide any ad hoc reports as required

Qualifications and experience

The successful candidate should possess a qualification in mechanical engineering, project engineering or tender management combined with industry knowledge and experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience from the customer perspective ie working for a Plant Hire / Engine rental company

Key attributes:

* HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field is essential.

* Extensive experience in a customer facing sales role is required

* Proven ability of working to and exceeding targets

* Knowledge Modern Diesel Technology and Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis

* Knowledge of construction machine hydraulics

* Ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level

* Both commercially and technically focused

* Able to engage with a wide range of customers effectively both verbally and in writing

* Work successfully in a dynamic environment with changing priorities

* Ability to work cross-functionally across various departments

* Use of CRM systems

* Strong time management skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications


cGBP40,000 to GBP60,000 (dependant on experience)
