PURPOSE OF JOB:
To support the Trend Analyst and Trend Department in Global Trend Presentations and workshops that drive the direction of all departments. Help shape the branding direction of Claire's and Icing brands through trend research on all platforms.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research trends in fashion: runway to retail, apparel to accessories, look at fashion blogs, websites, WGSN, magazines, retail shopping, travel

Research color trends: same as above

Research cultural and lifestyle trends: Heavy digital research in YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, WGSN, and other magazines outside of just fashion magazines

Work on seasonal boards and trend deck each season, meeting all deadlines

Work on all presentation boards needed for corporate meetings as needed

Work on multiple trend reports that is used as main communication tools to Buying/Merchandising. These include season trend reports: cold weather, sunglasses to trend alerts, updates, refreshers, spotlights, etc.

Study each department, keeping up with best sellers and worst sellers to better understand our customer, our business, and bring relevant information from trend teams

Shop competitors, new innovative brands, brands associated with our age groups from kids to young women. Be our eyes in European stores, competition shopping, and new brands

Identify new classifications and emerging ideas that we can bring to Buying & Merchandising as a business

Work with buying teams on specific R&D as needed or requested. Work with design team on the same

Some travel will be required in Europe and North America

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

3 + years experience in design, trend forecasting, or related experience

Bachelors degree

Proficient in all Microsoft Office

Excellent to professional graphics level of skills in Adobe Suites. We require an expert level in InDesign and Photoshop

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Excellent organisation skills and self motivated, as working independently for majority of the time

Able to work in a passionate, creative, and driven environment

Analytical skills that can interpret trends and communicate how that applies to our brands and specifically to each department

Excellent people skills: Role requires to work with design team as well as Buying & Merchandising

Positive outlook, looking always for the new fresh, fun, exciting ideas

Strong communication skills. This role requires working and collaborating with our teams in North America
