The Role:
An opportunity as a Finance Specialist - General Accounting has become available at a global engineering firm based in Stone. Joining a newly set up finance hub that will support key business operations, the successful candidates will be tasked with overall financial statement preparation by executing accurate and timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures and external regulatory requirements.

Further responsibilities will include:
* Accounting - Performs general accounting activities including tax and treasury, applying techniques and standards to solve unusual issues. Supplies limited advice on accounting matters based on well-established principles and practices.
* Analysis - Executes accounting analyses and reports as assigned for general ledger and tax.
* Reporting - Ensures the production of reports, statement of accounts, reconciliations, statements of sourcing, and application of funds in a timely manner.
* Financial transactions - Applies accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
* Optimization - Assists in developing and implementing processes and procedures, and continuously optimizes to gain efficiency and drive productivity gains.
* Internal controls - Participates in internal control testing and prepares relevant
* Risk assessment - Supports management with financial aspects of project funding and risk assessment

Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Part or Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/Other UK recognized accounting accreditation)
* Experience of ERP FI module preferably SAP
* Experience of company tax returns
* Experience in Treasury, Tax and General ledger
* Excel Skills - Intermediate or above

* Previous experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures
* Large Company Experience
* Experience of all aspects of finance
* Audit Experience
* Internal Controls
