Purchasing Administrator - New Role

Straford Upon Avon

Salary: GBP18,000 - GBP20,000 per annum

Monday to Thursday: 08.30am - 5.00pm

Friday: 4pm finish

28 days holiday (inc Public)

VRG are representing this market leader who are looking to expand their existing Purchasing function with the successful hire of a Purchasing Administrator. This key role will see you reporting to the Purchasing Manager with the overall responsibility to for supporting all administrative tasks within this fast paced team environment. This opportunity would suit someone who has existing Purchasing experience from with a Manufacturing or Engineering environment however looking to expand on skills and experiences further.

This successful SME are a growing company and the opportunity of Purchasing Administrator will see you challenged on a daily basis however a role that you will learn and be supported. To be considered my client seeks both enthusiasm and ambition to be successful within this integral department.

The Role

* Deputise for Engineering Procurement Supervisor

* Process Purchase Orders

* Contact Suppliers regularly by telephone and email to ensure delivery due dates are hit

* Data Entry, in order to monitor lead times/delivery of goods

* Concisely place machine build orders from a BOM - using Sage and Excel

* Liaising with stores/stock forecaster to ensure correct stock levels are maintained

* Updating prices and information surrounding items on Sage

* General administrative support to purchasing

* Working for this business there will also be expectation to support other business areas


* Previous experience of working within a small Procurement manufacturing/ engineering team is ideally preferred. (This should be seen as an excellent development opportunity as you will be working closely within a small team)

* You will preferably have previous purchasing knowledge, but a methodical, detail lead focus on workload/tasks is of the upmost importance

* Have very good face to face and verbal communication skills

* Experience in working as a key individual in a small team

* Ability to work diligently and accurately is a must as there is a large amount of data inputting required when raising purchase orders on Sage, maintaining Excel spread sheets and updating PO's on Sage

* Whilst you will be required to work on your own initiative, it is essential that you enjoy being part of a small team and are willing to support others at challenging times

* Strong IT skills, and confidence in working with, MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook

* A good working knowledge and experience of SAGE 50 will be an advantage

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly

* Enjoys working in a fast paced exciting environment

* Able to follow both processes and systems

* The ability to be diverse and manage multiple tasks at once

* Organised
