PRU Teacher KS2
KS2 PRU Teacher
Are you a qualified KS2 teacher looking for a long term role in a challenging environment? Are you experienced working with children with complex needs?
I am currently recruiting for a small PRU in Central Birmingham who are looking for a class teacher to join their primary department on a long term basis. You will be working with a mixed aged KS2 class with 8 pupils in. The needs of the children vary from challenging behaviour to SEMH (Social, emotional and mental health).
The successful class teacher must be primary KS2 experienced with experience of working with very challenging behaviour. As the children have very complex needs, a teacher with empathy is essential. Team Teach is also essential for this role.
The school is looking for a teacher to support them on a long term basis until the end of the year. The role could become permanent for the right candidate. You will be required to take part in marking and planning. You will also attend parent's evenings, staff meetings and reviews.
The role is based in the KS2 department with highly complex children.
The PRU is an excellent one to work in with lots of support from SLT. There is a lot of CPD and training available. You will also have TA support. Class sizes are very small so there is minimal marking and planning. School days are shorter compared to mainstream schools as the children leave earlier.
I am looking for a KS2 teacher who isn't phased by challenging behaviour and can just get stuck in with teaching and managing behaviour effectively. Your Team Teach qualification will assist you in managing challenging behaviour and your prior experience will assist you in receiving results both academically and behaviourally.
I have worked with this PRU for over three years and have always been impressed with how it is ran and how well they manage the behaviour of students, The class sizes are very small and there is a lot of TA support. One teacher working at this PRU has said "I have worked here for 2 years now and really enjoy it. I get on so well with the head and he is always around trying to help everyone. The support from my TA has been incredible too - I really feel like my class are flourishing".
I am keen to speak with teachers interested in the role. Please head to our website to find out more.
