Senior Portfolio Manager

My client is currently looking for an experience Senior Portfolio Manager to join a very successful team. Reporting into the Head of Change Management the successful Senior Portfolio Manager will be accountable for the overall control and management of the Change Portfolio. You will also be responsible for the leadership of the assigned Portfolio Management resources as well as own, management and continuously improve the Portfolio process. You will be a key member of Change Committee articulately presenting the Portfolio Position to fellow members, demonstrating active management of the Portfolio including the impact of change events and the ability to model various Portfolio scenario's.

Senior Portfolio Managers Key Accountabilities will include:

Portfolio Shaping

Drive discussions with Strategy & Planning to identify and align programmes / projects / backlogs to Strategic Initiatives. Act as an Escalation point for the Sub-Portfolio Delivery Managers where a prioritisation decision is required out of Strategy & Planning.Portfolio Planning

Formulate and maintain rolling 12-month portfolio plan. Ability to articulate that plan to all levels of stakeholders, RMC members through to the wider change communityPortfolio Management

Map key milestones, dependencies, risks, resource demand profile/ costs, business impacts and expected benefit outcomes for the Portfolio.
Produce the Portfolio level gating plan for Big Rocks and work with EPMO to facilitate effective gate management to safeguard delivery.Relationship Management

Actively promotes the value and benefits of the function within the wider organisation. Represents the Function at cross functional committees
Proactively engages with Business Sponsors and Stakeholders, building effective and strong working relationships.
Ability to influence and negotiate with Senior Sponsors and Stakeholders, operating a level of communication that instils confidence in this community.Team Management

Operates at a Senior Level within the organisation supporting the Head of Function with the delivery of the strategic objectives forChange Management.

Provide excellent leadership and motivational skills in order to inspire those working on the Portfolio and drive the delivery of the Portfolio processes and outcomes.What is my client looking for in the successful Senior Portfolio Manager

Knowledge or PRA/FCA and / or similarly regulated environment
L&H insurance industry trends and cycles and their impact on products and profitability
Evidence of a strong track record of change delivery that can be used in Portfolio Management
Evidence of application of industry standard change frameworks / methodologies / tools / techniques
Skilled in MSP and knowledgeable in advanced planning and forecasting techniques
Robust experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships
Robust experience of people management and performance improvement
Experience of leading and motivating Programme / Portfolio teams
Evidence of role modelling of behaviours and acting as an ambassador for our one team goal
Financial Services experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent
APM or Prince2 Practitioner
MSP Portfolio Practitioner
MPS Programme Practitioner
P30 Practitioner or equivalent
PROSCI Practitioner or equivalent (or working towards)
Agile or similar (or working towards)What is on offer for the successful Senior Portfolio Manager?
Salary is dependant on experience and will range from GBP55,000 to GBP75,000 per annum along with excellent benefits.
