About Us

Tardis Environmental UK are a rapidly expanding Transport company. We offer event, construction, portable toilet, bulk waste and water bowser hire as well as sewage and drain services. Due to rapid growth we are recruiting for an experienced SHEQ Manager to ensure compliance across the business on all safety, Environmental and quality aspects.

Competence and Qualifications

Ideally the candidate will have general NEBOSH certification and be a member of IOSH with experience in Managing several sites across the UK. A Key part of the management team, you will drive the H&S culture throughout the business and be responsible for co-ordinating, supporting and advising the business in all aspects in relation to health, safety, environmental and quality matters.

You will be expected to manage your own time effectively whilst monitoring standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety are adhered to.

This role is based at our Telford Depot, Please be advised this role requires extensive travel throughout the UK and as a result a company car will be provided.

Responsibilities

·Ensure the company wide SHEQ policies and processes are implemented and carried out across the business.

·Develop a short/medium- and long-term H&S strategy working in conjunction with the senior Management team.

·Manage and devise the agenda for, chair, formulate and distribute minutes from SHEQ meetings ensuring that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.

·Carry out inspections and audits across all sites and review the effectiveness of the H&S management system identifying areas of improvement as and when required.

·Carry out accident investigations, producing supporting documentation and corrective action plans including recommendation of possible disciplinary action.

·Identify the training needs of employees, develop and deliver training as required, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.

·Manage the company safety rules and near miss/Hazard reporting promoting SHEQ initiatives ensuring, review, audit, feedback and closure including agreed actions.

·Monitor and report on the services provided by external contractors .

·Carry out regular programmed internal audits and facilitate external certification audits.

·Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business through regular tool box talks and safety communications.

·Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.

·Liaise with suppliers, Insurers, solicitors and auditors where required.

·Maintain the SHEQ management system making updates as required.

·Updating the HSE events/ Incident database and tracking and analysing trends: tracking follow ups associated with incident reporting.

·Acting as first response to incidents to maximise learning.

·Accountable for all RIDDOR and OSHA reporting and compliance.

Qualification/Experience

·A NEBOSH certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.

·Experience in maintaining and updating 18001, 14001 and 9001 Management systems with plans to upgrade to ISO 45001 within the next 12 months.

·Practical experience of carrying out health, safety, environmental and quality audits/Inspections.

·Knowledge of Regulatory requirements.

·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly demonstrate and convey concepts to large and small audiences on various levels.

·FORS Practitioner and fleet Management experience preferred.

·Driven individual with the ability to work independently or show excellence within a team.

·Strong leadership attributes with the ability to communicate staff inductions and training efficiently and effectively.
