Our client is a British institute and are one of the leading luxury car brands. This company has enjoyed year on year growth and have sold vehicles globally. With increase in demands means they are setting up new R&D facilities across EMEA to meet various regulation standards. Due to continuous growth they are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join the Chassis and Motion team forming part of the Body/Chassis Engineering Department. This will be based in Gaydon on a contracting basis

Job Description:

The team provides control system and software design and development expertise for existing and future Chassis Electrical, ADAS Motion Control, and various new technologies and enhancing the driving experience and working towards the goal of autonomous driving. This role is for an experienced and highly motivated controls engineer with responsibility for the design, development and delivery of in-house control systems and software for future ADAS features.

Tasks include:

Design and development of model-based control strategies. This includes development and demonstration of new concepts and systems via desktop simulation and concept vehicles and working with software engineers to update and improve existing systems and architectures.
Requirements analysis and decomposition, control strategy design, development and execution of validation process and associated simulation environments.
Working with a team of system and control engineers, including an offshore team, to deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones

Skills Required:

Thorough understanding of Control System design and development using the Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time applications
Experience of control strategy development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development V-cycle, including understanding of system and software engineering principals
Understanding of quality and robustness techniques and standards such as FMEA, P-Diagrams, noise factor analysis, and data analysis techniques to support this.

Experience Required:

Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience


Between £20 and £25 per hour on a limited / Umbrella company basis based over 40 hours per week.
