Associate IQA - Clinical Coding (SOUTH)

The Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) is responsible for the assurance of the learner experience and assessment practice within the identified provision. The role will include supporting the delivery teams, ensuring their training needs are identified and catered for by the most appropriate person.

Reporting to the Lead Quality Assurer, you will organise and prioritise workloads and will have a keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. You must have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated with a can-do attitude and good time management, being able to deliver to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

* Ensure assurance and verification activity is carried out in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with the Quality Framework and sampling strategy

* Conduct interim and summative sampling and report on the required measure and milestone progress to the individual and their manager

* Conduct Mock EPA activity to ensure learner readiness

* Act as a Subject Sector specialist and contribute to curriculum development activities when required

* Guide and support delivery colleagues to ensure quality and consistency of practice and their sector competencies continue to meet expectations

* Positively challenge where quality is not met and driving continuous improvement in the practice of delivery staff

* Support delivery colleagues to ensure timely achievements for learners

* Contribute to the standardisation process and preparation for EQA and Quality review visits

* Contribute to the staff recruitment and induction process and assuring the suitability of new delivery staff

* Provide support and guidance to delivery teams in relation to the Awarding Organisations and End Point Assessment Organisations requirements for assessment practice and the completion of documentation

* Plan and hold standardisation workshops and meetings

* Liaising with appropriate staff to ensure that systems in support of assessment, verification and any additional support required are fully implemented

* Undertake observations of teaching, learning and assessment including desk top reviews, learning walks on direct and where required subcontracted provision

* Undertake CPD and sector updating to ensure the contractual requirements of the post and the needs of the department at met

* Provide training as required.

* Provide Line Manager with accurate and up to date information

* Completion of all paperwork required to meet audit requirements.

Criteria

IQA and assessor qualified and be occupationally competent
Hold a National Clinical Coder Qualification
A satisfactory DBS disclosure certificate
Proof to Right to Work in the country
