The day-to-day duties The purpose of the Site Manager is to oversee the Structures Testing laboratory to deliver cost-effective, quality test data, safely and within agreed ; The Site Manager will be managing the Project Management and Set-Up teams, and so will require strong people management skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads and respond to changing demands. Principal responsibilities: Manage the staff working within the Structures laboratory - ensuring that work is completed to high quality standards and using safe working practices Ensure that work is appropriately prioritised including dealing with changing customer requirements and the inherent uncertainty of bespoke testing Help the Sales team in scoping new projects Set the work programs for larger scale customised projects Deliver the business plan for the Structures laboratory Ensure that people and resources are best utilised to meet business demands, and lead continuous improvement programs within the laboratory Communicate effectively with clients over testing requirements and results Ensure staff are adequately trained and competent to do their job Develop, review and manage KPIs for the laboratory Review equipment and propose any CAPEX that is required for maintenance or to improve performance Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required: Ideally a bachelor's degree level in a technical field relevant to the target industry (for example Civil or Structural Engineering or associated Engineering degree), or equivalent experience Some experience working in a Structural Testing environment Knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements, particularly the European and National Standards Experience in leading teams Good problem solving skills Practical skills to be able to assist with work within the laboratory Strong communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of seniority Excellent and proven ability to prioritise workload Ability to work in a "one team" manner to resolve any challenges that arise internally or externally What the company will offer: 25 days holiday (plus public holidays) Flexible working arrangements (variable start and end times) Private medical cover (including a cash plan to pay most excesses, and the option to enrol other family members) Defined contribution pension scheme, where we will match the employee contribution up to 5% If you wish to apply for the positions of Site Manager, please click apply to submit your application
