Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a passion for planned maintenance? Are you looking for a role within a technically challenging and unique manufacturing environment producing specialist products for clients including MOD and large Aerospace companies?

Our client are specialists in the manufacture of specialist hardware components, working within a very niche market, they are renowned for their quality products. Founded 50 years ago, they have become a powerhouse within this bespoke and highly specialised industry.

The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will ideally have come from a manufacturing/automated environment or have recently finished their engineering apprenticeship and be looking for their first step into the world of Maintenance Engineering, they will be logical thinkers and work well within a team. This role will suit a friendly, hard-working Maintenance Engineer with an interest in complex manufacturing processes and robots.

Experience required:

Mechanical fault-finding experience
Previous experience working with grinders, machining centres, ovens, etching machines or chemical lines would be highly advantageous
Must be able to read hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
Must have experience changing basic mechanical components including bearings, sprockets, shafts and have good hand tool experience
A basic electrical understanding and the ability to read schematics would be highly advantageous
Must be Apprentice trained (or equivalent, NVQ Level 3/C&G Level 3) in a relevant field (i.e. electrical or mechanical engineering)
Responsibilities will include:

Fault diagnosing using schematics, hydraulics and pneumatics
Replacing bearings, belts, shafts, identifying electrical components on a schematic diagram
Previous mechanical experience repairing pipework, changing gearboxes and motors
Working a day shift (Monday to Friday 8am - 16:30) plus paid overtime, our client offers a salary of up to cGBP23-5k with a realistic OTE of cGBP26-7k plus benefits including paid overtime, 28 days holiday, 5% company pension, DIS x2, plus excellent opportunities for training and progression.
